Updates from the past.

I have been lackadaisical (that would be a 4th grade vocabulary word!) with my blog writing.  Last Friday I completed another fabulous, Four Thousand Friday!  It sure is a lot of work, but definitely worth it!  Thanks, Becky, for yet another workout that inspired me.  I swam two 1000 yard freestyles (one swim and one pull).  The first I went about a 12:35 and the second 12:02.  And, Chris was only a 25 ahead of me!  Very excellent!  If I was a TMN Turtle, I would say, "Totally Rad, Dud!"

Here is an awesome photo from the Salt Lake Marathon Bike Tour I was invited too.  My friend Melody was sweet enough to invite me on the 25 mile ride and I had a blast!  I sure hope I can get inspired to do a few more.  I like the uphills and want to focus on the closest and most beautiful canyon in the area, Millcreek!

We went down to Ephraim to visit the family for Mothers' Day.  The park down there is a blast!  It is a very good combination of plastic and metal parts.  They even have a dinosaur fossil!

We have only a week and a half of school left in this year.  It has gone so fast!  I am loving teaching 4th grade.  It definitely fits me better than 5th.  I love the curriculum, it is extremely interesting to me.  I will miss my current students.

I have most of the junior quilt top done.  I just need to add the border for the top to be finished.  Then comes the back and the binding.  Some lucky friend(s) will receive this fabulous gift (hopefully before summer is too hot!)

Four Thousand Friday!

Today's post will be all about Four Thousand Friday.  I think it should be called Minimal Rest Friday, but I didn't name it.  Although, I did name Fun Friday.  It is quite a challenge to swim 4,000 yards in one hour.  So it was a good thing I was on time this morning.  Here is the workout curtsy of my best friend and coach, Becky.

1x400 warm up
6x250's freestyle pull @3:10 (I only got ~5 sec. rest!)
10x100's alternating free and IM by 100 @1:30 (only ~5-9 sec. rest, again)
10x50's kick/swim by 25@:45 (this time I was down to ~1-(-1) sec. rest)
1x600 freestyle--start fast end with cool down

It was a very good workout, but it was very hard.  We really swam almost non-stop.

Thanks Becky for another excellent workout!

More April Fun

I have been up to a few things this April.  My friend Melody invited me on the Bike Tour of the SLC Marathon.  We had a blast!  It was a 25 mile ride of fun.  It inspired me to ride more.  So the next day I rode from home to the Millcreek pay station.  It is a straight (well, almost) uphill ride.  It was so hard, but very full-filling.  I have a picture of it here.

The other great accomplishment was finishing the front table runner.  I really like the springy look.  Light and cheery.

The other wonderful addition to our home has been our new back porch.  Our contractor said we would get the new cement in about a month.  But our lucky day!  He called and they started work on it on Friday.  So today the last of the work was done, sealing.  This is the most horrible smell I have ever smelled.  I can taste it on my tongue.

We are going to clean up the back corner and landscape it.  That will be my summer project this year.  I am excited to eat breakfast and drink my coffee in my fancy new patio furniture, on my beautiful new cement patio all summer long!  That will be living the life of luxury.
